Delicious! The Hello Hilo bowl and pineapple whip make the perfect late lunch into dinner or enough food for 2. Service is quick, you know it's made when you order it. Adorable play yard, outdoor eating area
Bright colors and unique design! Fast casual is the category. The food portions are generous and the food is delicious. Not a huge amount of selections but they offer bowls from vegetarian to pork to beef and both fried and grilled chicken. Sliders are an option too. Lots of drinks and deserts including some fruit drinks. The decor is fun and the location is right off Jesse Jewell Parkway. Staff is friendly and helpful. Check them out!
We finally made it to Hello Hilo when I was looking for someplace my grandkids (12 & 14) would approve of. We and they LOVED it! Even my picky eater granddaughter declared the food great. They loved the outdoor grassy area with the games and swinging chairs. We were there in the evening so the neon lights added to the wonderful Hawaiian ambiance which we all loved also. You can sit on the large covered patio and the kids can run and play right next to you and be well entertained. Perfect for families or moms who want to meet-up and visit while the kids play. It is hard to find a restaurant with those qualifications. There is plenty of indoor seating also. And a special shout out to the employees! They went out of their way to explain the menu to us, let my granddaughter taste test, and even came outside to offer to take a group picture for us! Special kudos to the manager for such a clean, well run, restaurant! And, no, I have no affiliation with it or anyone who works there. There always going to be those hard-to-please folks who never like anything. Personally, we don't have a single bad thing to say. We were ready to go back the very next day!
Hello Hilo has an ample amount of free parking and a drive thru. We opted to eat in. Service was nice and pretty fast, but they didn't look too busy. I ordered the spicy bulgogi steak sliders with fries. Food came out quick and hot! I enjoyed my sliders and it had a nice flavor. The fries were yummy as well! The interior was nicely decorated and fun!
Hello Hilo Check out Hello Hilo. A taste and feel of Hawaii located in Gainesville GA. This restaurant is aesthetically beautiful. I give it for ambiance. The Drink: I was really excited they have Kona coffee. I tried a latte with macadamia milk. The Food: I filled up on the dish called Hilo Bay Noodle Bowl which had Avocado, edamame, cucumber, tomato, carrot, tropical fruit salsa, chilled somen noodles, crispy wontons, POG dressing, cilantro, scallion, sesame seeds. Pro Tip ask for the dressing on the side and control on quantity. The potato salad was delicious. It had noodles in it which I have not had before. The pineapple dole whip was perfection. The Service: I watched the busboy graciously clean up a spilled drink, but also offered the lady to replace it. I don't see that kind of service around much anymore. I like that. It's worth the drive.
Upon entering you are greeted by a huge and colorful building decorated with pineapples and tons of colors! They have an indoor, outdoor along with a drive through as well!! It is very well organized and once you walk in you are met with colorful and tropical style decor. The staff is ready to greet you and take your order along with menus to take a look at the variety of food they have. You do received a buzzer to wait for your food and the wait was not long at all. I got a mixed meet rice bowl, with spam musubi. Overall, the food was very savory but I just wish the portions were a bit bigger it seemed rather small for the prices they have set. I would definitely come back but it wouldn't be often as the price doesn't reflect the portions.
Loco for their Loco Moco... I've only eaten at this place twice and though I want to try the other items on the menu, if it don't broke, don't fix it; and the Loco Moco here is so good. Two panko breaded burger patties on a bed of rice with tomato, cilantro and scallions, and topped with gravy and a fried egg, add in's and take offs are free. I opted for an extra egg. Both eggs were cooked to perfection and were deliciously runny. The gravy was savory and the panko crusted patties added a great texture to everything. I also tried their potato mac salad and the only negative there was it needed some salt, but my mother is the Queen of Macaroni Salad and while this couldn't compare to hers, it was still pretty solid. Overall, it's a great value versus cost, as portions are generous. If I have one complaint, it's that I dislike the paper (cardboard based) bowl they serve the Loco Moco in. The food has a tendency to stick to it after it cools down and it was nearly impossible to eat the leftovers the next day. Also, the lid fit poorly because the bowl got a tad soggy and warped. I can't say for the service this go-round as I actually ordered through Uber Eats, but it arrived timely and was correctly made. My first experience was in-house and the overall vibe of the place is nice and service was great.
Hello Hilo! Finally got to check out Hello Hilo. The minute you pull up to the building, you can't help but smile. I love that they have a drive-thru option. We ordered two bowls- Lava steak bulgogi and Huli Huli chicken. It was fresh and bright. We ate every bit of it. I especially liked the lava steak bulgogi bowl. The udon paired so well with the bulgogi. Sauce was fire. So tasty and not super spicy. I appreciated how the Huli Huli chicken bowl came with all the fresh toppings. The chicken was tasty. We also got the spam musubi. Packaging was cute and it was gone in 60 seconds. They sell a variety of desserts too! Wish we got more. Got one malasada. There were so many different flavors to fill them with. My friend said their cookies are good. Will definitely get some next time. Will definitely have to come back and try some of their other menu items and bakery items like shaved ice, cookies, cake, etc. Go support Hello Hilo. I love the story of the origin of this business. Hope they do well and get a lot of love. It's a bit of paradise in Georgia/Gainesville.
